Dr. Preston grew up in Yorba Linda, CA with an early introduction to Veterinary Medicine. His parents, tired of the snow and cold in Ohio, migrated to California in the 70’s to open a family run veterinary practice. His first experiences were working in the kennel, then assisting with the patients, and finally earning the grades to gain acceptance into vet school. He returned to his Midwest roots to attend the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where he met his future wife Dr. Nell. After graduating in 2002, he began practicing with a focus on internal medicine for companion pets.
Dr. Preston continues to practice high quality medicine while also leading the team as Medical Director of Lombard Animal Hospital. He enjoys maintaining the neighborhood atmosphere at LAH by interacting with his clients and patients on both a professional and personal level.
At home, Dr. Preston spends time with his 15-year old friend Coors the cat, his bird Homie, and Gomez the tortoise. He can be found making lots of noise on his guitar when Dr. Nell is not home. When spending time together, they are usually hiking, biking, kayaking, snow-sporting, and enjoying the good food and drink we have here in the Pacific Northwest.
